September was full of love, sun and traveling.
We had couple of days off so we decided to take a car and travel to Tuscany to celebrate my birthday there.
First stop
Verona.
On the web I found a hotel with the name suitable for our trip: Chocolate and flowers.
Hotel Chocolate and Flowers hotel.
Their owners are very nice people. An old musicians couple, and their son.
At the breakfast we even had an concert thanks to papa and mama, who took their instruments and played for their guests.
Good tip: On weekend you can park around the castle, up on the hill for free.
We took a long walk from the castle down the hill to the heart of the old city. Beautiful bridge, great gelato, lovely pizzeria and of course Juliette and her house.
Then we went straight to my favourite place in whole Tuscany San Quirico Dorca.
I once attend a photo workshop there and ever since I love this place. We celebrated my birthday in Trattoria Osenna, if you ever go to SanQuirico make sure you will visit this restaurant. Delicious food!
Not far from there is Bagno Vignoni with its hot springs. Near from there we found a agriturismo house for rent.
Early in the morning we went to hot springs to have a photo session in the beautiful light.
Our next stop was:
Piombino by the sea overlooking to Elba island and from there to
Livorno Rocky seashore where we had a bath in the sea and another photo session on the rocks.
Richard Kay Kardhordo
On the way to Lucca we stopped for a sunset photos in Pisa.
Lucca with its pictoresque downtown, with a lot of gelato shops and restaurants. We wanted to rent a room in the downtown. An old man on the bicycle came to pick us up. He explained his rooms are fully booked but he had an apartment outside of the downtown. He was very nice. We had a great breakfast in his house in the downtown next morning and he let us use his bicycles for two hours just to look around.
From there we made a D tour back to
Siena and on the way to Florence we stopped in lovely old town
San Gimignano in the historical downtown and had an ice-cream tour.
Then from there we traveled to Florence, meanwhile reading Derren Brown’s Inferno. We found a fantastic restaurant, well obviously it is extremely easy to find a great restaurant in Florence, but this one was superb. Just next corner from our hostel there is Trattoria La Madia …a must try.
We also did not want to skip Italian spaghetti so we stopped in Bologna.
On the way back home we visited an exhibition of A.H Bitesnich portraits in
Ljubljana Slovenia which was great.
Here is a little video from that trip:
